- You can modify Node parameters with the Property Sheet
- You can Drag the Cursor to modify most values
- Press the Launch Browser button to see your world in your VRML 2.0 Browser
- Use the Tree Window to see the hierarchical relationship between the Nodes
- Use the Tree Window to Pick Utility Nodes. Utility Nodes are not always visible in the graphics windows
- Use the Render options Dialog Box to modify may parameters that control how you view the world
- Select Dynamic Rotate to Rotate the view by dragging
- Select Parent (Page Up) is very useful in selecting the Group containing the Selected Node
- Select Child (Page Down), Next Sibling (End) and Previous Sibling (Home) allow you to change the selected without using the mouse
- The Arrow Keys will Pan in any direction
- Shift Arrow Keys will rotate your view of the world by 30 degrees
- The Copy and Paste State commands allow you to apply the location, orientation, and Scale of one node to another node
- The Copy and Paste State commands also work when editing animations and swept surface spine vertebra
- Press the Control Key while Dragging a node, and you will create a Copy of the node
- Press the Control Key to Copy while dragging in the Tree Window
- Press the Shift Key while Dragging a node, and the node will move in and out
- Press the Control Key while Rotating a node, and the node will rotate in the plane of the screen
- The Tab and Shift Tab keys will select the next and previous Animation Keys, if you are editing an Animation Node
- The Edit Materials Dialog Box will allow you to Create, and Edit colorful Materials
- Use the Texture Properties Page to select a 2D image file to map a 2D image on 3D geometry
- When the Browser displays your world, your avatar will be placed at the First Viewpoint Node in the world
- Make the Viewpoint Node Move with an Animation Node, and the users view will move along with it
- The Extrusion Node will create simple cookie cutter type extrusions
- The Swept Surface Node will sweep a single cross section along a path. You can move, rotate and scale the cross section at each vertebra along the way
- The Sculpted Surface Node will allow you to have a different cross section at each vertebra
- LOD Nodes can change their appearance as you get closer to them
- Inline Nodes allow you to nest a VRML 2.0 world inside your world
- Viewpoint Nodes control the position and orientation of the avatar when Browsing
- Anchors are Group Nodes, but they act like hyperlinks when you press them in a VRML 2.0 Browser
- Billboards are Group Nodes that automatically rotate so that they are aligned to your viewpoint
- Background Nodes allow you to choose image files for the world background
- The Light Node can add a point light, directional light, or a spot light to your world
- The Sound Node can play a wav file on startup, or when it is triggered
- Turn the headlights off if you use extensive lighting in your world
- Animations can either be Started by the Autostart feature, or they can be triggered by Sensors or other Animation Nodes
- Sensors can be Touch Sensors, Proximity Sensors, or Visibility Sensors
- Sensors can trigger Animations, Lights, Sounds, and Switch Nodes
- Animation Nodes can trigger other Animations, Lights, Sounds, and Switch Nodes
- Lights and Sounds can be triggered by Sensor Nodes or by Animation Nodes
- Animation Nodes can trigger other nodes, and they can also be triggered by other nodes
